Description
This course is divided into three sections. The first section will introduce the different architectural structures and devices used to build networks and facilitate communication. You will be introduced to the Client-Server model, IP addresses, Binary and the Domain Name System.
The second section will discuss ports and protocols and introduce an important conceptual model known as the OSI model. You will learn the theory behind each layer of the OSI model and then be introduced to an industry wide application used to analyse network activity called Wireshark.
The final section will apply this theory to practice by using command line utilities that operate on the different layers of the OSI model.
